History
Jozef De Waye is an original rescue boat type 'Watson all weather lifeboat' built in 1956-57. It served with the British Rescue Service (R.N.L.I.) until 1989, saving 88 lives. The boat is still largely in the same condition as when it was in service.
The vessel weighs 23 tonnes empty, measures 14.25 m by 3.89 m and protrudes 1.37 m deep into the sea.
It is propelled by two diesel engines of 70 hp (each in a watertight engine room) and has a towing capacity of 10,000 tons.
