On Sunday 4 August 2024, the Paravang, the windscreen at the harbour, will host the Paravang festivities. The harbour area will then be bathed in an authentic maritime atmosphere from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing the cosy backdrop for fishing traditions and folklore all day long.
In the shadow of the monument, there will be continuous demonstrations of old crafts and folk games, performances by folk dance groups and the singing of sea shanties from all over the world. Tasting a freshly baked fish or learning to peel shrimps? Check!
Besides the Harbour festivities in spring, the Paravang festivities are a time when Blankenberge highlights its fishing past.
