You can find a selection of cycling routes at the Tourist Information Point which guide you to the most beautiful spots both in town and in the surrounding environment!

Gentele cycling route

Using the Gentele cycling map as your guide you can head straight off into the Blankenberge polder landscape. Starting at the Koning Leopold III square you can follow the route along the Gentele dike. On the way, you explore sleepy polder villages such as Zuienkerke, Houtave and Nieuwmunster. Excellent places for a pit-stop and to refuel on one of the regional beers while relaxing on a café terrace before hitting the road again. Nature lovers can try bird spotting in the bird meadow areas of the Uitkerkse Polder and Meetkerkse peat bogs.

Oudland polder: an exclusive farmer's story cycling route

The Oudland polder is located to the north-west of Bruges, between the Baudouin Canal, the Bruges-Ostend canal and the North Sea. It is one of the last regions in Flanders offering unimpeded views of the horizon. This openness is typical for the polder landscape and the bond between the landscape and agriculture remains a strong one.

There are two cycling loops (42 and 32 km) with a total of 15 information boards located along the route from which you can learn more about the agriculture in the Oudland polder. These include fascinating facts about the history, current times and the future plans.
