On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026, the Paravang festivities will take place around the Paravang, the windbreak at the harbour. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the harbour area will be bathed in an authentic maritime atmosphere and will provide a cosy backdrop for fishing traditions and folklore throughout the day.
On Sunday 2 August, old crafts and folk games will be demonstrated continuously in the shadow of the monument, there will be performances by folk dance groups and sea shanties from all over the world will be sung. Want to taste freshly baked fish or learn how to peel prawns? Check! Throughout the day, there will also be open ship tours on board the B1 St-Pieter and B72 Jacqueline-Denise.
In addition to the Harbour festivities in the spring, the Paravang festivities are a time when Blankenberge puts its fishing history in the spotlight.
