The picnic area along the Scharebrugstraat has undergone a metamorphosis. Thanks to a major renovation, the place has been transformed into an attractive recreational hotspot for young and old alike. Ideal to stop during your bike ride and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature in peace.
The hotspot is located along Westtoer's recreational cycling network of junctions, near cycling junction 89.
What can you expect?
- Two picnic tables, one of which is wheelchair accessible.
- Two large bird-watching walls with information on local bird species, the history of the nature reserve, a map of the Uitkerkse Polder and the other nature reserves in Blankenberge and a 'Snuit' play panel with a quest for the little ones.
- Reclining benches to fully enjoy the surroundings.
- A footbridge with willow art by local artist Jean-Louis Müller over the watercourse, perfect for a unique photo.
- Bicycle parking in two places.
