Platform boat B606 Victorine

This dissected half boat is like the sister ship of the B72 Jacqueline-Denise. Unlike the B72 Jacqueline-Denise, the B606 Victorine does have a wheelhouse. This indicates the transition to more modern vessels with engines and control in a wheelhouse.

The skipper of the B606 was Bertje Puupe, whose real name was Albert Goes. A nickname is always used in the Blankenberge fishing environment. The ship was names after his mother Victorine.

With the platform boat a tribute was also brought to the Blankenberge boats that ran into mines in front of our coast during the 'big herring campaigns' in World War II and especially to their brave crews who lost their lives.
