Signposted walking route of 8.8 km in Lissewege.
The flat polders around the white village of Lissewege are home to meadow birds. The walk passes through wet meadows and follows slow roads lined with reeds. Atop the impressive Our Lady's Visiting Church, you have a wonderful view of the bustle of Zeebrugge port. The Cistercians of Ter Doest Abbey contributed significantly to the reclamation of the polders. Their storehouse is a monumental witness to their presence here.
