From Friday 10 April to Sunday 19 April, young and old alike can enjoy the station fun fair on Koning Leopold III square.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Blankenberge Shanty Choir, we are joining forces with folk art group Reuzegom to present “De Traverse”.

Let yourself be swept away by Circus Barones and discover a sparkling family show full of fun, spectacle and wonder. With the theme “Smile – laughing is healthy”, this show promises to be an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.

During this edition, you will run past iconic locations such as the belle époque district, the seafront, the pier, the marina, the dunes and, for the 10-mile runners, even through the beautiful Uitkerkse Polder. A course full of atmosphere, nature and character. In addition to the running course, there will also be entertainment, a bouncy castle for the little ones, hamburgers, sausages and sweet treats.

Anyone who has ever visited tavern 't Koetshuis has surely wondered what the small pavilion in the courtyard was once used for. A working group of city guides researched the history of the Mamet/Konkelberge family and incorporated their story into the pavilion.

On 22 April, come along to the grounds of Sport Vlaanderen Blankenberge (Koning Boudewijnlaan 15B) for a huge children’s party. You’ll be playing and having fun all afternoon. Jump on loads of bouncy castles and take part in fun workshops and activities. To round off the day, you’ll get to dance the night away at a proper children’s disco show.

Heritage day 2026 explores how humour builds bridges and draws boundaries. Humour is everywhere: from the satire of the jester to the wink of an internet meme. Sometimes disarming, sometimes painfully accurate, sometimes just on the edge. 'HAHA Humour' examines how laughter brings us together, but also how jokes can cross boundaries, hurt or exclude people. Humour changes with the times and tells us something about who we are – and who we were.

Dance the night away with “Z-Curse Going back in time”: The audience chooses and the band plays. Z-Curse consists of three seasoned rockers who take you on a journey through time. With more than 100 songs on the request list, the audience determines the set list while the band performs it live, like a living jukebox. From classics by AC/DC, Black Sabbath and CCR to hits by Elvis, Gerard Lenordman, Paul Severs and Hazes, and even Metallica. Whether you want to slow dance, twist or headbang... anything is possible!

Werner Demeyer has been interested in contemporary art since the 1950s, the period of the Cobra movement. He visited many vernissages and exhibitions at home and abroad. He sometimes had posters signed by the artists and has thus built up a collection of posters spanning more than half a century of contemporary art.
