In the Belle Epoque Centre, you get to know the idyllic period in the 19th and early 20th century: the belle époque. Its heyday, between 1870 and 1914, was a period in which the European middle classes enjoyed remarkable prosperity.
Blankenberge at the time developed as a significant spa town with large building projects underway to cater for the expected increase in tourism.
